A Major Wind Project is now proposed for Dodge County - Called Dodge County Wind LLC

  • A 23 mile high power transmission line, to run from west to east through the entire width of Dodge County between Dodge Center and Hayfield.  This proposed transmission line will be built across rural Dodge County to the Byron substation.
  • 68 Wind Turbines in the proposed project with 60 located in Dodge County and 8 in Steele County - to be scattered over many acres on some of the best farm land in Minnesota
  • Most Wind Turbines in the project are very large - 283 feet tall with 2.5 Mw generation - among the largest in the State
  • New Electric substation to be built in Ripley township SW of Dodge Center
  • The MPUC Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is available online
  • Public Comments on the EIS and a public meeting will occur on August 20, 2019 in Kasson
  • This large Wind Project that will change Dodge County for Decades!
